Worker on a tea dryer at the COTHENK tea factory in Nshili – Kivu area. The factory buys green leaf tea from the cooperative of tea farmers. The whole process from green leaf to processed sold tea and pay back to farmers lasts approximately two weeks. Here the chopped black tea is sent through high temperature dryers to reduce remaining humidity content from 60% to 30% in about 15 minutes. |
