Title: | Ethiopia - Community-Based Integrated Natural Resources Management Project - March 2008 |
Description: |
A truck carries timber and laborers in Kossoye, Ethiopia. The lumber industry and deforestation has caused soil erosion and degradation. Due to land scarcity, farmers are forced to seek farmland in higher altitudes in mountainous areas. The Community-based Integrated Natural Resources Management Project aims to promote employment opportunities outside of agriculture in order to relieve pressure on marginal lands. The Lake Tana Watershed project area is in Kossoye, which is located in the Amhara region, Megech, Ethiopia. |
