Title: The Gambia - Participatory Integrated-Watershed Management Project (PIWAMP) - November 2009
Description: Women harvest rice in a paddy field near to Katchang village, Gambia.

Local farming groups are composed of up to 15 family members. In the lowlands, women grow rice, cultivate vegetables, and, raise livestock. Men cultivate coarse grains, groundnuts and other crops in the uplands.

The Participatory Integrated Watershed-Management Project (PIWAMP) started up in 2006. The project is cofinanced by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
