The Nshili – Kivu tea factory buys green leaf tea from the cooperative of tea farmers in Nshili-Kivu, Nyaruguru. The coop owns 15% shares in the factory. Once processed, the tea is shipped by truck to the Mombasa Tea Auction in Kenya and is sold within a week. The tea produced is rated as third best in Rwanda. The factory currently produces 1 million kilo’s of processed tea per year. |
