Two “Dame Sarah” with their goods in the truck on their way back to the cities where they can sell the purchased crops. The trip can take two days. The project focuses on an area where 95 per cent of the population depend on agriculture as their main source of livelihood and where one third of the population is involved in seasonal migration to the capital Port-au-Prince and the Dominican Republic. The overall goal of the project is to make sustainable improvements in rural poor people's incomes and welfare and foster their participation in development. |
