|Title:||Bangladesh - Market Infrastructure Development Project in the Charland Regions - December 2008|
Hasina Begum, 50, makes puffed rice in a small factory at her home in Bakerganj, Bangladesh.
The Market Infrastructure Development Project in the Charland Regions works with rural communities in order to directly benefit small enterprises and small-scale traders in the project area. The region is characterized by severe annual flooding and extensive river erosion. The project endeavours to promote opportunities for women, and to improve upon the physical infrastructure such as market facilities and farm-to-market roads to increase incomes in the area.
