São Tomé e Príncipe - Participatory Smallholder Agriculture and Artisanal Fisheries Development Programme (PAPAFPA) - April 2014
Description:
Farmland encroaches on the boundaries of the Obô Natural Park in Sao Tomé. Sao Tomé is one of the world's biodiversity hotspots and although 30% of the island has been declared a protected area, this is difficult to enforce and farmers desperate to earn a living enter the Park to cut down trees for firewood, construction and farmland.
