Supported by IFAD, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, PAMER (Projet dAppui aux Micro Entreprises Rurales) provides farmers with training and support to develop micro-enterprises in rural areas of Burkina Faso. Mrs Awa Zoure Nonkane, 48 (not shown), prepares a syrup made from hibiscus flowers that she mixes with sugar, then dries and packages for sale. When the mixture is added to hot water it makes a sweet hibiscus juice. "I started out small but I refined my technique and my daughter helps me part-time, so now Ive really grown. |
