Title: | Burkina Faso - Rural Microenterprise Support Project - March 2007 |
Description: |
Augustine Bambara Kere, 42, sews nets in Garango, Burkina Faso. Supported by IFAD, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, PAMER (Projet dAppui aux Micro Entreprises Rurales) provides farmers with training and support to develop micro-enterprises in rural areas of Burkina Faso. Augustine Bambara Kere and Mone Alassane (not shown) sew nets used to place produce in dryers that utilize the sun's heat to quickly and cleanly dry materials placed inside them. The climate prevents farmers from growing vegetables all year round. Drying the vegetables not only preserves them but keeps them available throughout the year. |
