Chorm Chkeang, 38, is a farmer who grows cassava on a test plot that was part of a farmers’ field school in Morset village. He was able to harvest 50 tons of cassava on his nine hectare plot, which once dried will yield about 20 tons of cassava. “I planted the cassava here a year ago, now we are chopping it down and pulling out the roots. Then the cassava is pealed, chopped and dried for 10 days. Before I just planted, now I build rows and can harvest more cassava per hectare.” |
