Liu Yong Shong is a farmer in Xixiang village. He owns 1.3 hectares of land (20mu) where he grows flax, potatoe and yam. He is able to harvest 600 kilo of flax on one third of a hectare (6 mu) per year. Liu has three grown children working in the city of Hohhot in the technology industry. The project has helped to organize the cooperative. Before, the farmers sold their flax to random buyers and receiving about 6 Chinese Yen per kilo. With the cooperative they receive 10 Yen per kilo. |
