Title: Burkina Faso - Rural Microenterprise Support Project - March 2007
Description: GAYERI BURKINA FASO

Supported by IFAD, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, PAMER (Projet dÕAppui aux Micro Entreprises Rurales) provides farmers with training and support to develop micro-enterprises in rural areas of Burkina Faso.

Latifa Kouraogo (19), Issaka Kondaga (44), the village baker's wife, cooking the family's evening meal; a porrige made from millet grain.

"In 2006 I received training from PAMER in bread making. Three months later they gave me a new oven to work with, as my old one was small and not sufficient to produce enough bread. Now I can produce 36 loaves at a time. When they helped me to access a loan I was able to open my own market stall in the village central market where I sell the bread I bake. I do good business there so my relationship with PAMER has given me much joy."
