Title: | Burkina Faso - Rural Microenterprise Support Project - March 2007 |
Description: |
Issaka Kondaga, 44, prepares bread for baking in Gayeri, Burkina Faso. Supported by IFAD, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, PAMER (Projet d'Appui aux Micro Entreprises Rurales) provides farmers with training and support to develop micro-enterprises in rural areas of Burkina Faso. "In 2006 I received training from PAMER in bread making. Three months later they gave me a new oven to work with, as my old one was small and not sufficient to produce enough bread. Now I can produce 36 loaves at a time. When they helped me to access a loan I was able to open my own market stall in the village central market where I sell the bread I bake. I do good business there so my relationship with PAMER has given me much joy." |
