Supported by IFAD, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, PDRD (Programme De Developpement Rural Durable) provides farmers, women and youth with training and support in its effort to bring sustainable rural development in Burkina Faso. "The project has had a positive impact on my life. With the money I get from gardening I get food, clothes and cope with my family needs. PDRD have supported me with seeds and helped to prepare the land [with fertilizer] but I hope I can have a manual water pump one day so that watering my garden would be easier. For now I have to fetch water from the lake with my bucket and itÕs hard work. My husband is away in Ouagadougou so I am the only one to manage for the survival of the family." |
