Mariano de Jesu?s Henriquez was forced to move to the town of Chalatenango from the countryside because of the war. He prefers not to remember the war, and he says that there is nothing more important than living in harmony with others and with oneself. "Without harmony" he says, "there is nothing". Following the signing of the peace agreeement in 2001, IFAD focused on reconstructing rural infrastructure as well as developing economic opportunities for areas affected by the civil war as a means of facilitating the transition to peace. |
