IFAD's country strategy in El Salvador focuses on improving living conditions in the poorest, most remote regions of the country. The Chalatenango area was deeply affected by the civil war which officially ended by the signing of a peace agreement in 1992, and also by two high magnitude earthquakes in 2001. IFAD's project initiatives work to invest in improving rural infrastructure and physical resources and also assist rural communities in developing demand-driven enterprises such as Rosita's. |
