|Title:||El Salvador - Reconstruction and Rural Modernization Programme (PREMODER) - August 2006|
Portrait of Petrona Elida Leonor, 51, single mother, who owns a small business sewing garments in San Lorenzo, El Salvador.
Petrona Elida Leonor started sewing when she was 13 and that has been her main source of income throughout her life. In the 2001 earthquake her house was shattered and she and her family had to sleep under a plastic tent, until she was able to build her own house with the help of several NGOs, including IFAD.
The Rural Reconstruction and Modernization Programme (PREMODER) aims to promote small enterprises and to assist areas most affected by the consecutive earthquakes of Januray and February 2001.
San Lorenzo is located in the San Vicente state in El Salvador.
