She is a subsisitence farmer who rasies chickens and grows crops such as cilantro, lettuce, carrots, corn, and beans. Valdene says she is a part of the group to learn and to be social. "We work together adn help each other. At home, we are individuals but here we are together." The group sells their crafts at farmer markets and fairs. Half the proceeds are divided among the members of the cooperative and the other half goes to materials. |
