Nzega village_Crystal Georgie records weekly fee payed by Muimasenta saving group members. My name is Crystal Georgie, I’m 28, I’m married and I have 4 kids. I’m a farmer, I grow soy, beans and peanuts, I also keep pigs, goats and chicken. I’m one of the 12 members of the Muimasenta saving group . Thanks to the loan I had from the group I could buy fertiliser and have a better harvest. With the increased income I could buy clothes for my children and school fee, especially for the older one who is in secondary school . For my children I hope they can study until university so they can help me. Our group was constituted 6 months ago by 12 women, each member deposits 200 Kwacha per day, we lend money on interest and we run a collective bakery. Every loan has to be approved by all the members.We hope that other women would join the group so we can grow our capital. With the interest we get from the loans we are able to buy what we need, pay school for our children and furniture. |
