Description: |
Tondo village_ Katherine Soko and her family harvest peanuts. My name is Katherine Soko,I’m 44, I’m married and I have 6 children. I’m a farmer, I grow maize, peanuts, rice and vegetables and I keep chickens and goats. I usually sell my products to middlemen. I’m one of the 75 members of a peanuts seed multiplication program, as is the first year I didn’t see any results yet but SAAP project should find the market for the selected peanuts seeds we produced. My biggest challenge is the climate change, due the lack of rain the crops got diseases I didn’t know how to treat, thank god the extension worker from the project teach us how to treat it with the right pesticide. For the future I want my children finish their studies and I hope to be able to build a house with iron sheet roof and buy some furniture. |
