The Hafira earth dam in Jordan. The dam, which is an IFAD financed construction, collects 45000 cubic meters of rainwater per year. Farmers come and collect the water with pumps and tanks generally from April to August. The dam benefits 3 villages. The water is used for sheep and goats. The Agricultural Resource Management Project works with rural communities to improve upon food and water security. In addition to providing technical and financial support for soil and water conservation, the project promote improved agricultural production in rural communities. |
