View of the Hafira earth dam, Jordan. The dam collects 45000 cubic meters of rainwater per year. Farmers come and collect the water with pumps and tanks generally from April to August. The dam benefits 3 villages. The water is used for sheep and goats. Improved water and food security for rural communities is a primary objective of the Agricultural Resource Management Project. By promoting sustainable resource management techniques and providing financial supprot for water conservation, IFAD aims to improve upon agricultural production in rural communities. |
