Moufida filter the milk as a first thing before starting the process to make cheese. Moufida Sassi is 48 years old, she participate to IFAD formation course in 2016, the year after she took charge of her own business. Moufida make cheese at home with the milk produced with the 12 goats she owns. Moufida has three sons: one of them is married and the other two are living with her, with the earns she makes by selling her cheese she menages to pay her sons studies and live a decent life, before joying the project Moufida did not have any income except a pension of 200 TND (68 Euro) per month which she was struggling yo survive with. One of the main objective of the project is to diversifying income sources and expanding employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups, including young people and women. 'First thing I did when I start to earn money was buying a washing machine, in the future I wish I can renovate my house' Moufida says talking about her projects for the future. (© Alfredo D'Amato) |
