| Description: | Morjina Begum, 20, is a mother of a daughter and a son. Her husband works as a carpenter, but she rears 5 cows in their homestead, giving her ample economic independence. She was greatly benefited from the Char Development and Settlement Project Phase IV (CDSP IV), which is the fourth phase in a series of projects that have been developing newly accreted land (chars) in the coastal areas of Bangladesh since 2011. It is co-financed by the Government of Bangladesh, the Government of the Netherlands and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Under the CDSP project, farmers like Morjina were provided with extensive livelihood support, which enabled them to lead better lives. |
