Md Nuruzzaman, 40, is a rice farmer by profession, who farms on his acre-worth land. A father of 3 daughters and a son, he has been immensely benefited from the Char Development and Settlement Project Phase IV (CDSP IV), which is the fourth phase in a series of projects that have been developing newly accreted land (chars) in the coastal areas of Bangladesh since 2011. It is co-financed by the Government of Bangladesh, the Government of the Netherlands and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Under the CDSP project, farmers like Nuruzzaman were provided with extensive livelihood support, which enabled them to lead better lives.
