| Description: | A Khatian Distribution programme in Sulaiman Bazar, Char Nangulia, Hatiya. Here, registered settlers under the Land Records Management System are provided with final documents of land rights as beneficiary families, making them owners of the respective plots on a permanent basis. Khas land, once allocated, cannot be sold and only be transferred hereditarily. Here, Md Abdur Rouf Mondol, Additional District Commissioner (Tax), Noahkhali, is seen handing over the documents to the beneficiaries. This initiative is also under the supervision of CDSP IV, which is the fourth phase in a series of projects that have been developing newly accreted land (chars) in the coastal areas of Bangladesh since 2011. It is co-financed by the Government of Bangladesh, the Government of the Netherlands and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). |
