Before the project intervention she was widow and living in poverty with her 2 sons.
Now she grows sesame and sorghum that sells in regional markets and owns 45 sheeps.
“Before the project I was practicing traditional farming and I made only 1 sack of sorghum for fezzan (0,25 hectares)
Now using techniques I learned from the training, like land preparation , crop rotation and water harvesting, I can get even 12 sacks for fezzan.”
She’s the head of the “Sauda” women saving group, with a loan from the ABSUMI rural finance group she bought an oven she uses to make bread that sell in her shop.
With the increased income she supported financially her son to get married and improved her house.
She plans to buy a tractor to increase the production.
