Hani Elsadani is receiving presents from the cooperative. Soitaran Multipurpose Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited is one of 49 apex organizations so supported by Smallholder Dairy Commercialization Programme (SDCP). It was formed in January 2006 and registered on 16th March 2006. It started bulking milk the same year with the first intake of 50litres per day. In 2008 it was affected by post-election violence, but recollected itself thereafter. Currently it is handling 5000litres per day and is linked to the Brookside Milk processing firm, the leading milk processors in east and central Africa. The Cooperative Society operates a milk cooling plant where Programme beneficiaries and other dairy farmers within their proximity are able to access market for their milk, dairy inputs, financial, AI and extension services. |
