Women sell potatoes, the main produce of the Andahuaylas region.
They buy the potatoes from the local farmers, mainly at the Sunday Fair, and resell them. By peeling them they add value to their product.
IFAD's country strategy in Peru assists small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs with expanding upon their non-agricultural activities in addition to supporting local farmers establsih agriculture-related enterrpises in nearby small and medium-size towns.
