This women producers’ federation decided to develop cocoa production as a business after an assessment of high value crops that would grow well in their environment. They are one of 70 organizations who have been selected for support by the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) an umbrella organization of agricultural industries, exporters and producers who run a nationwide mentorship programme to transform producers’ organizations into profitable businesses, supported by IFAD. |
