Lucía Castillo Lon, 37, belongs to a group of women called Grupo Feria Agropecuaria in Peru. The group has received training from Management of Natural Resources in the Southern Highlands (MARENASS) and currently manage a grocery store in addition to raising guinea pigs which they plan to export. In terms of agricultural products, the group cultivates artichokes and aromatic herbs. The project focuses on the management of productive natural resources to overcome poverty in rural Andean communities. One of the main areas of the strategy is the transfer of decision-making and financial resources to community groups. |
