Colombia - Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility grant - Dec 2018
Description:
Camilo Escamilla holds one of his grandmother's chickens. She sends a box of the birds to Bogota each month and invests the money she makes back into her farm in Pueblo Nuevo. Asociación para el Futuro con manos de Mujer (ASFUMUJER) has helpd her grow more food, in part by supplying her with rain catchment materials that she uses to collect and store water. Camilo says he wants to be a farmer, like his grandmother. The Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility (IPAF) has awarded a grant to the Climate change adaptation and food security for indigenous communities in Natagaima Tolima project (RENACER), which works with the Pijao-Natagaima indigenous peoples group.
