G.A.V.Kumari 30 works on constructing a wooden support for her Snake gourd field in Nelam Kanniya, Galkulama, Anuradhapura. She obtained credit from the Matale Regional Economic Advancement Project. Since 1978, IFAD has committed a total of US$191.7 million for 14 rural development projects in Sri Lanka benefiting some 460,000 households or 2.2 million people. The MREAP project works with rural communities in order to increase the productivity of small-scale farmers and to develop employment opportunities for women and unemployed youth. |
