CLAR is a Spanish acronym that stands for Local Resource Assignment Committee. The CLAR gathers representatives from local and regional authorities, ministries and NGOs operating in the area and farmers’ organisations who judge the quality of the proposals put together by communities and farmers’ associations and decides on whether they deserve funds from a development project. Many IFAD-funded projects in LAC work through that mechanism, included the Sustainable Territorial Development Project (PDTS in its Spanish acronym). These pictures come from a CLAR held in Pichos, Tayacaja province, Huancavelica Department, in Central Peru, in December 2018.
