Meriam, 51, feeds chickens that she is raising on her farm in Smar village, Tunisia. Meriam raises chickens after receiving training and a diploma from the project. She has 16 of her own hens and also buys fertilized eggs from her neighbors and incubates them. She rents the incubator, which can hold 115 eggs at a time, but hopes to buy her own incubator once she is able to obtain a loan from the bank. The project is helping her to finalise her business plan in preparation for applying for financial assistance. |
