Shepherds live in remote huts and raise animals in the Smar village province, Tunisia. Sheep, goat and camel herding families live in remote huts away from roads, electricity or running water. They use the surrounding lands to graze their animals. The project has set up a system to monitor ad rotate the land that is being grazed so as to preserve the soil and increase awareness on the effects of overgrazing. |
