Maria Ndong, a member of the Inter-Village Development Association (AIVD), collects propagules to prepare for mangrove reforestation. For the people living in this area, mangroves are of paramount importance as they provide important fishery and forestry resources for the inhabitants. The aim of PARFA is to sustainably improve the food security and income of small-scale producers – including both farmers and herders – and create remunerative, sustainable jobs in rural communities. It focuses on expanding the access of smallholders and their organizations to effective services and production infrastructure, appropriate technologies and markets. |
