| Description: | Ngenzwanimana Serges (45 year old, left) and Nishimirimana Anicet (27, right) are employees of the Muruta Milk Collection Center in the Yanza Hill village, Muruta Commune, in Burundi’s Kayanza Province. They are participants in the IFAD-supported Value Chain Development Programme (PRODEFI II). PRODEFI II aims to increase rural households' resilience to climate change, intensify crops and livestock production to improve nutrition and food security. It is also working to improve the processing and the marketing of their products through structured milk and rice value chains. Serges and Anicet are just two of the many rural people who have benefitted from newly created job opportunities resulting from this investment project. |
