Title: Philippines - Fisheries, Coastal Resources, and Livelihood (FishCORAL) – September 2021
Description: Analee Menor, 46 years old and local of Brgy, Taytay, wakes up every morning at 4 AM to prepare the food and work on the fish to be dried. This allows her to take care of household chores in the afternoon. Her husband is a fisherman and they process their own dried fish. However, being close to the Pacific, when weather is bad, she can work on the project run by BFAR. When the weather is bad, she says, in order to preserve the fish, they spend money on ice, so a freezer would be a great help to them.

The overall goal of the project is to reduce poverty in poor coastal communities, improve food and nutrition security and increase household. The fishing communities' capacity to sustainably manage fishery and coastal resources is built and ensures sustainable engagement in diversified livelihood activities.

More than 180,000 poor households living in coastal areas will benefit from this IFAD-funded project.
