Cristian Uriel García is the treasurer and a member of the “Buscando Prosperidad” rural savings bank in Yamaranguila, western Honduras. Through the RPSF, the bank took part in a digitalisation campaign. The bank’s members share that through this campaign the service has become more efficient and transparent. García says that, through the digitalisation of the systems, he no longer has to write in the books. Everything is faster, more efficient, and transparent and he can submit transaction reports much more quickly. The RPSF is a short-term strategy that feeds into IFAD’s longer-term development objectives. It aims to improve the food security and resilience of poor rural people by supporting production, market access and employment and to accelerate their recovery from the COVID-19 crisis. |
