Chichel is a small agricultural village near San Juan Cotzal where Susana Elizabeth Zambrano, a farmer and mother of eight children, lives. Over the years the village has felt the impact of climate change with a loss of crops harvested. COVID has also had an impact on the lives of the community.
Chichel is one of the rural communities being reached by Agros International with the agri-digitalization campaign, an RPSF supported project, and giving the people an opportunity to access credit and loans.
The RPSF is a short-term strategy that feeds into IFAD’s longer-term development objectives. It aims to improve the food security and resilience of poor rural people by supporting production, market access and employment and to accelerate their recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
