The flood irrigation method is used to water the watakolu (luffa or ridge gourd) plants. Netting protects the plantation from animals. The Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SAPP) aims to raise incomes and improve the quality of diet of over 57,000 smallholder households in Sri Lanka. The program provides a platform for smallholder farmers to access financing and business training, while also helping them to form partnerships with each other and the private sector. |
