Title: Sri Lanka - Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SAPP) – Recipes for Change (R4C) – February 2022
Description: In Sri Lanka, jackfruit is an additional nutritional source, as well as an alternative substitute for primary foods such as rice. In Matale, the company Ecofeel Food PVT LTD, which was founded in 2014, produces, locally distributes and exports dehydrated fruits such as jackfruit, vegetables, and spices. Their main brand is called Dryzy and it is exported to 11 countries, with jackfruit being their main product. The jackfruit, which is locally sourced from farmers such as Subramaniam, is ripened and processed and then available at the local markets.

The Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SAPP) aims to raise incomes and improve the quality of diet of over 57,000 smallholder households in Sri Lanka. The program provides a platform for smallholder farmers to access financing and business training, while also helping them to form partnerships with each other and the private sector.
