Members of the Betmeas village rice growers association working in the rice paddy of the association’s leader, Sar Wenay. He is growing an aromatic variety of rice usually found in Thailand. It grows much better than local rice and can be sold for a higher price. Through a project training programme, he learned harvesting and land-levelling techniques. Members of the village association take turns working in each other’s fields.
