Title: | Nepal – Rural Poor Stimulus Facility (RPSF) – March 2022 |
Description: |
Sanjay Khanal, one of the brothers who owns and runs SK Goat Farm, is a management graduate. With his brother Sandeep, he worked to improve their goat farm, introducing the innovative practice of feeding silage to the goats, marking a move away from the traditional goad feeding practices. Their silage plant, initially established to meet the needs of their own farm, has grown to become one of Nepal's leading silage companies. Support from ADBL and RPSF has enabled them to fulfil their dream of making agribusiness commercially viable. In Nepal, RPSF funds supported laying the foundation for scaling-up the upcoming VITA project. The project will develop and test an application with services such as: an e-wallet for payments and remittance transfers; automated loan processing; connection of merchants to offer credit for future outputs; virtual collection centres; price/quantity/quality/service provider information; connection of buyers and sellers of inputs and produce; training material and links to YouTube videos; GIS tools for local government. To facilitate the above, the project will support local banks in the expansion of their digital services and establish cash-out points for e-wallets using agents rather than ATMs (more cost-effective). |
