Here, it is already more advanced [and] modern," she says. Nia dreams that her loan application of 20 million rupiah (around US$1,284) through the YESS project gets approved. She wants to further develop her two hectares of paddy fields owned by her parents using the funds if all goes smoothly. In Subang Regency of West Java, Indonesia's most populous province, the young woman learns how to develop the paddy fields as a YESS beneficiary. During the training provided through YESS, Nia has learned how to grow rice faster. YESS aims to create opportunities for rural youths to build their livelihoods through rural entrepreneurship or employment. It seeks to develop a new generation of young farmers and agripreneurs while contributing to sustainable rural transformation through people-oriented investment. |
