Title: | Indonesia – Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) – November 2022 |
Description: |
Winda Rahayu believes regeneration is needed to ensure Indonesia's food supplies remain replenished. However, the 21-year-old native of Subang Regency in West Java – Indonesia's most populous province – finds tech adoption the most difficult challenge in rice cultivation. She says everyday stuff like ploughing is far from complex while using tractors is the other way around. Meanwhile, during her two months of training with the YESS project, she now understands how to differentiate various types and classes of rice. As one of IFAD's projects in Indonesia, YESS aims to create opportunities for rural youths to build their livelihoods through rural entrepreneurship or employment. It seeks to develop a new generation of young farmers and agripreneurs while contributing to sustainable rural transformation through people-oriented investment. |
