Paula Barbosa is a POSER participant who lives in Lajedinhos - Porto Novo Santo Antão. She produces carrots, cabbage, pumpkin, watermelon and other vegetables.
Before taking part in the project, she did some temporary work, but now with the support received, she has dedicated herself to agriculture. In this area, the project supported the community by installing boreholes equipped with a photovoltaic system with water energy management.
The Rural Development: Rural Socio-economic Opportunities Program – POSER aims to improve the living conditions of rural populations by promoting the creation of inclusive and sustainable economic opportunities in rural areas, and in particular to foster long-term employment for the rural poor among women and young people. By the end of 2022, POSER had cumulatively financed 108 structuring projects with the potential to develop 157 ha, benefiting 11,963 producers, including 4,655 women. A total of 429 microprojects have been financed, targeting 5064 direct beneficiaries, including 2704 women.
