Eshine is the deputy chairman of the Bakalcho Cooperative. The cooperative of about 500 members from the local community was formed after the project financed the construction of a new bamboo depot in the village of Hule Woreda. The depot enables bamboo growers to store and treat their bamboo, so they can sell bamboo of better quality, more easily. Farmers were also trained in producing bamboo charcoal which is often used as cooking fuel. The depot is equipped with tools, cutter, drilling tool and treatment chamber. |
