Praia, 25 May - IFAD Associate Vice President Strategy and Knowledge Management, Jo Puri met with the Prime Minister of Cabo Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva. The two authorities discussed how to increase funding for agriculture to strengthen the medium- and long-term resilience of small rural producers in Cabo Verde. The meeting gave the AVP the opportunity to outline the various points on which IFAD wants to focus on in Cabo Verde. These include how to engage with Cabo Verde going forward, build a strong focus on rural people especially in isolated areas, engage with the private sector, bring new financial models like private sector, climate finance, and collaborate with the government of Cabo Verde to generate new data.
